Hi all,
I apologize for the long post. I just hope someone has an idea what is
happening.
Until some days ago I was able to receive my mails using SimpleMail 4.3
(debug version) just fine. When I tried it today, SimpleMail loaded
the first mail (which I can open and read, but is shown as "Error" in
the
In Box). Any further mails aren't loaded, instead a new mail is created
that I can't open and that has a time stamp about 5 hours in the future.
If I try it again, SimpleMail loads the next mail (but again only one)
which I can open and read) and adds another new unreadable mail with the
weird time stamp.
The unreadable mails aren't on my mail server, they seem to be created
by SimpleMail.
Since I'm not too eager to bother people with things I can find out
myself, I tried the following:
0) A soft reset
1) Uninstalled SimpleMail and all the attached viewers and stationarys
etc.
and reinstalled SimpleMail (4.3 debug version) with text stationary
only.
Didn't help.
2) Restored from a full backup that is about a week old. At the time
this backup
was made SimpleMail worked fine. Didn't help.
3) Thinking that there might be a mail on my mail server that makes
SimpleMail
choke, I deleted ALL mails and sent one single mail that has only my
signature
in the body from my desktop PC. Didn't help.
I am kind of desperate since I need this to work when I start my trip
next
Monday. This is why I will now do what I normally not do, namely clog
the list
with heaps of text that most, if not all of you probably couldn't care
less
about. I apologize for that. SimplemMail's debug output of this session
makes
me believe that there is no problem connecting to the server. It seems
to respond
as expected and return all the right info. At some time during the
session a
-48404 handle error (Expected a number) occurs which makes SimpleMail
quit.
If any of you has an idea of what might be going on here, I'd be very
thankful
for a tip. Please respond off list because I'm on the digest version.
Thanks a lot in advance
Frank
For obvious reasons I changed my user name, password and email address
in the debug output. I would, by the way,
like to congratulate Simon on the way he built the debug output in.
Sending
this to the NTK inspector is really cool. Here is what it came up with:
