Well, the Newton is slow to begin with. You'll never hit the maximum
possible transfer speed with WiFi either, ~20KB/sec is the top speed
the Newton can handle over ethernet. In applications like Courier which
require the Newton to do something a bit more complex with the incoming
data, the speed difference is negligable.

That's what I use here. Simply let a PPP daemon run over a Bluetooth
serial port on your desktop, add some IP forwarding and you're set:
