Actually they rub a ball up and down their leg supposedly to make the ball
go faster as their legs are usually speed restricted!.
The ball can travel at a great velocity when bowled in your direction at
which time you had better duck. if hits you you'll need to see a quack.
If the ball hits the wickets on the bowlers first delivery then you're out
for a duck, at which time you would feel like a Goose, if not your in for a
longer innings.
In Cricket an over is a period where the Bowler bowls the Cricket ball in
your direction six times at great speed to try and hit the wickets to get
you out. Obviously if the ball misses the wickets and hits you in the head
then you not out ,but more than likely knocked out and taken off the field
whereupon you team mate comes on to replace you. The game can go for days
until everyone is out, knocked out or rained out. Its a great excuse to sit
around for days, get pissed ,yell abuse.
Recently in Australia they have stopped buxom young ladies( beer wenches)
from delivering the beer to thirsty males at Cricket games as Cricket is
deemed to be a family sport.
The game was created by Englishmen who spent too much time out in the miday
sun!!!.
