Hi,
I'm following this list for a short time and I've found very interesting articles for
my Newton devices. Thanks to the community! :)
Now I have a question that seems not to be discussed on the list because it is very special (especially to me ;) ).
How can I transfer programs (pkg files) between Newton devices via IrDA ?
My problem is that I have a Newton 2000 with no serial adapter but with a pcmcia ethernet card.
To make it work with ethernet I have to put the drivers onto the Newton but without a serial adapter it is
quite difficult ;) (seems like a chicken egg problem...)
And If I have Ethernet I can use AppleTalk with the network card.
Since I have a Newton MP130 I can beam programs to my Newton MP2000 if they where installed on the MP130
before. Some programs need NewtonOS2.1 to be installed so I could not install the programs onto the MP130
to beam they over to the MP2000 (like the ethernet stuff).
Maybe someone has an idea how it can be done to get the ethernet stuff onto the MP2000 without serial connection ?
Thank you!
With kind regards,
Wolfgang Engel
