<I had a look at this a while ago, and decided that the newton probably
didn't have the speed to do sampling and fourier transforms. Maybe I'm
wrong. I'll have another try this weekend. I've got a 12 string after
all...>

I'm actually a (French) horn player and college teacher. I used a Palm-based
metronome for a couple of years before realizing that I'd like a larger
screen and other things built into the Newton platform. Due to the ability
of my instrument to sustain a pitch, the speed may not be such an issue.
