Ha! talk about stress!
In an attempt to further streamline my Cold Fusion
installation, I decided to upgrade to Cold Fusion5.0
plus service packs...
sheesh! did THAT go horribly wrong!
I lost all authentication to all my sites.... Cold
Fusion no longer had any access to anything! I
originally thought that it was due to my including
Advanced Security on this install (I didn't install
that on my 4.5 version)
My only saving grace was that I had the fore thought
to make a copy of the allaire registry entry before
the upgrade.
Needless to say, I got to a point where I just had to
go to bed and try in the morning (well, my mornings
start at 3pm).
I remembered my registry file and put that back in. It
restored my directory permissions, but I had no access
to the Cold Fusion Administrator...duh! there was a
CFML.ini file that had entries pointing to the wrong
directory (oh yeah, on upgrading from 4.5 to 5.0, I
also changed the location of the Cold Fusion installed
directory...I broke the first rule of upgrades...never
upgrade more than one thing at a time!)
Needless to say, I had to work parts of my brain that
hadn't been used in quite a while!

It's up now, and no...I wasn't giving a message to
anyone...sure, that last round of OT messages was a
bit much, but I'm not THAT vindictive!

BTW...I have a book that I just uploaded and I'm
having troubles reading it on my Newton...If you can
find it, it's called "deception point". Try and
download that and see if it opens for you!
I've got the book on a card and
I get an error when I insert that card. I get an error
that says that there was an error activiating packages
on the store, and lists that package as the culprit.

I've deleted the pkg from the card, but when I try to
download it again, it says that there is already a
copy installed on the Newt and it won't install the
package.
I think that either something is wrong with my Newt,
or the book...
So, let me know if you have troubles with the book...

Thanks
