Howdy Listers,

I'm normally not one to throw lists wildly off topic, however I have a
request from anyone in the Southern Ontario region (specifically
London, Ontario).

My mother, a go-getter that she is, has decided that she wants to pick
up and leave Prince Edward Island. She is getting older and doesn't
want to have to deal with the heavy snowfall and heavy winds; she is
also having a very difficult time trying to find a job that can pay
her over minimum wage -- a salary she simply cannot live on.

I promised her I'd try and get in touch with some people and I have
made a few contacts thus far, but none have committed to anything
beyond "maybe, possibly, in the near future..." And so I am here
hoping that some of you may be able to help me get in contact with
people in the Southern Ontario region.

She posses her degree in English literature and has had 35 years of
experience in a variety of positions (marketing communications with
Nortel [yeah, well you can guess why that ended], public relations
officer for the largest non-profit in Ottawa, a project manager with
several start-ups during the "dot-com" bubble, and so on and so
forth).

If anyone happens to know of a position, a contact, a friend of a
contact or a friend of a friend of a friend of your neighbour's
goldfish, in the Southern Ontario region (specifically for the London
region but the outlaying areas or even other cities would be
appreciated) I would be most appreciative if you might send it my way
(offlist, of course).

For the record, she has gone through many of the "on-line" job finders
(workopolis, monster, the Government job bank), however not a peep has
materialized, even from jobs she knows she is over-qualified for.

I have always admired just how tight knit a group the Newt owners are
and how they can rally behind a cause (or a person for that matter).

I would also like to appologize to the rest of the list for eating up
the bandwidth.

Best regards,
-Steele Campbell
