I would like to add...

Initially there are two types of cards in the SD format: SD and MMC.
The MMC is the same as SD but open like CF. MMC cards were also
cheaper than SD. Nowadays, pretty much only SD types are sold. But in
the early days, it was easy to get an MMC version.
