Cool gadget/computer (see also Sony U series
http://www.dynamism.com/u70) but bad PDA.

A PDA needs to be instant-on, minimal moving parts (ideally no
hard-drive to break), solid and simple OS, fast and intuitive and a
good run time between charges (my old Psion 3a used to last 2 months
of hard daily use on 2 AA batteries). To be commercially successful it
needs all of the above (plus more I've forgetten) plus a comtetitive
price point.

The point I was trying to make is that the OQO isn't in itself a
hardware platform - anything that runs on an OQO will probably run on
any x86 compatible hardware. In fact if 'Einstein' has some kind of
open source base (eg embedded Linux) then chances are it can be
abstracted sufficiently from any hardware so as not to make hardware
an issue.

I have no problem with any OS's or hardware combination - I've used,
worked and admin'd Mac Classic, OpenStep, NeXTStep, OSX, Tru64, Irix,
Solaris, AIX, Vax VMS and various Linux/BSD flavours.
