Does anybody have any expertise / interest in writing a driver for the sprint pc card modem?
The Newton recognizes it as a communication card when it goes into a slot. It is the Merlin C201 and after you acknowledge the newton, the light on it flashes green which means it has power and signal. Using modem modifier I can get it to behave a couple of different ways, but not connect. OS X loves this card, with a sprint vision driver installed that connects every time. The log file OS X writes is below:
: setting the port speed to 230K
: CCLWrite : ATZ\13
: resetting the modem using DTR
: setting the port speed to 56K
: CCLWrite : ATZ\13
: CCLMatched : OK\13\10
: Dialing without tone
: Dialing #777
: CCLWrite : ATD#777\13
: CCLMatched : CONNECT
: Communicating at 230400
: Serial connection established.
to my untrained eye this seems to say alot of the things it needs to say to get connected. I can send in the text of the CCL as well. Any thoughts or ideas or is this an exercise in tail chasing?
