I think this would be great idea. am sure there is a lot of great
software that probably disappeared as it was commercial, it would be
nice to see some of it become available again, but as free ware, I mean
really this is an obsolete piece of hardware. It would be unfair to pay
premium prices for software when the hardware is no longer supported
by Apple, that would be rather lop sided. I imagine that a lot of the
software solutions we look for are sometimes buried away in some vault
and are sitting there collecting digital dust. Donate it to the
community.

Sad part is that the Newton is officially obsolete but it has so much
life in it still. Presently most of us could agree the Newton's life is
kept very much alive by ACTIVE developers and a vibrant community like
this one and to those actively involved in bringing us a continued
effort should get their fair share. The fact the Newton is still going
as strong as it is, is a testament of the incredible hardware and
software, the devoted and talented developers who are still active
today and mind you, for the most part also unsupported themselves and
an amazing group of people who are so helpful to so many, and they are
right here on this list.

When I bought my Newton 2100 a few short months ago, I had no idea that
it was still marveled at by so many in so many ways.

I hope that some software developers will seriously consider making
their library available to us at a nominal price or for free, rather
then having their sleeping beauties never awaken again.
