As a MP2100 and Tapwave Zodiac 2 owner (Palm OS 5.2T), I was
pleasantly surprised to see a picture of the Zodiac featured in the
sixth slide of Roman Pixell's presentation "Why Apple's Newton failed
in the market place, a retrospective."
There are a quite a few similarities between the Zodiac and the
Newton: They share dual expansion slots, comfort in both portrait and
landscape orientation and they are both world firsts as devices. The
Newton was the world's first Personal Digital Assistant, and the
Zodiac, according to Tapwave, is the world's first true mobile
entertainment console.
I've been longing to see the brilliance of Newton OS on a modern
device like my Zodiac (which IMO would be a perfect medium for it).
Hopefully, through the hard work of Paul Guyot and others working on
the Einstein project, this will soon become a reality.
