Well, it works most of the time. Sometimes you can have problems due to
the fact that the Macs did not have RS-232 ports at all, but had RS-422
ports, which were designed to operate at different voltages and
different number of signal wires than RS-232 does. That's how they
could get 230,000 bps out of it.
I have, once or twice over the years, run into problems because of this.
