From the Transitive website:
- QuickTransit for x86. Allows application binaries compiled for a
- MIPS®, POWER™, PowerPC™ or a mainframe processor to run on an
x86-based
- computer. Application binaries compiled for other processors
- will be supported soon.
Sounds promising, but I'm sure it will come down to economic viability.
Can they make money producing an emulator for "Newton" binaries, that
will run on a WinCE or similar device? Probably not.
On the other hand if someone in the Newton community, with "emulation"
software development experience, is looking for a job...Transitive just
got $50 million in new funding.
