David:

This is a tough question. Currently at my desk at work, I have an older
desktop Compaq tied into our Novell network (for automated door entry
systems, phone system, and database use) and a 15" PowerBook G4 (for
everything else). At home, I have a 12" iBook G4 and usually my work
PowerBook for work stuff. Of course, my Newton goes everywhere.

If I had to choose, I would take a desktop (one at work, one at home) and a
Newton.

I can really understand your point, however. The twelve inch screen on the
iBook makes it especially portable. But my Newton has my schedule, my
contacts, and history (using MoreInfo). I really don't use it to send and
receive email, however, and that would be a major drawback of not having the
iBook.

I will be interested to see how others respond.
