wow - ive had the camera and the newt for over five years now and i
didnt know, i dont think its documented! i just tested and it works -
the 950 must be designed with the newton in mind then. but you cannot
charge cells in the camera right? i mean if you could, it would be the
perfect companion on a trip - charge up cells in the camera and use a
battery tray for the mp2k!

whats i find to be a backdraw with the 950 is the battery time, i also
use a D70 and it has a battery time of over 500 pix including flash,
like any decent digital SLR today. the 950 is not even an SLR - i guess
its the older chip and the TFT.

its not a homebrewn cable, but its not the original either. its some
gray cable with a PC serial end and a mac converter on top of that. i
no longer have the original, and i also miss the video cable for it.

i dont remember if that one worked, but i remember i tested it.

i also recall that paul something about that the ATA driver would
support ATA in the future, thus pictures from a camera formatted card
will be possible to read in a PCMCIA adapter in a newton. however, he
didnt provide a time plan for this one :) if he would take on and
release this functionality, we would no longer be tied to certain
camera models for the newton, also, cables would be useless.
