Some months ago, I spent some money in a laser barcode scanner:

I've got it working and made a simple stock-taking program, but I'm not
using it anymore.
No need to say that this is a lot more accurate than the barcode wand,
and has many different ways of working.
If you think this could be a better option for you than the wand
scanner, make me an offer offlist. I'll include the barcode and cables for
both the Newton and PC.
