Hi folks,

I have just been informed that the Newton intended for Robinson
that I sent to his proxy in Bavaria has been stolen from the
proxie's very doorstep. If you live in or around 82407 Wielenbach,
Germany, please keep your eyes open. Come to think of it, please
keep your eyes open regardless of where you live.

It is a Newton 2000 without battery, pen or screen lid. The
display has been polished by yours truly, which is easily
visible if you compare it to that of a "normal" Newton.

The number on the white sticker below the port door is
JE74201FAYK. The Newton hardware ID is 0000 0000 019C ABC7.

You can see the hardware ID if you install NewtTest
http://www.pda-soft.de/newttest.jpg on a card, plug it
in the Newton you want to check and start the applicaton. The
hardware ID is shown on the window the application comes up
with by default.

Wouldn't probably hurt to have a close look at eBay the next
couple of weeks, too.

Thanks

Frank
