I wrote a two-line DashBoard script that shows the currently connected IP.

Daniel, the location is a bit wrong, it's actually:

GetGlobals().|inetManagerFSM:NIE|.fLinkEntry.localAddress

Also, it's an array of four values, one for each part of the IP.
