I was under the impression that most NiMH worked at 1.2V. At least all
the NiMH batteries I've seen are rated for 1.2V.

Soon, I'll be recelling the battery pack In my Newton soon. Anybody
recommend a good pace to buy NiMH batteries cheaply. 4cbradio.com seems
to have good prices.
