Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the help some of you provided from my first posting. Here's
where I am at this point...
Still no wifi connectivity. My Newton (MP 2100) says the card is
unrecognized (a Lucent WaveLAN Turbo Bronze). I'm figuring I don't have
all the drivers installed. I have been forwarded a list of what needs
to be installed, but I haven't figured out how to tell what has been
installed. In other words, where do I see a file listing of what's
installed? I'm not even thinking about email connectivity yet, but I
also can't see where mail server settings are entered.
I've been successful with my Keyspan twin serial adapter using NCU in
Classic and NewTen and Newtsync in OS X 10.3.7. I can install packages
with NCU and NewTen without a hitch. I'm able to get a connection and a
seemingly successful sync with NewtSync, but none of my Address Book
data is coming across. I'm getting no error messages. In the Address
Book preferences of NewtSync the "Sync these Groups" box is empty. I've
tried everything to get my "All" group to show up here, but no luck, so
far. This is probably the most important aspect of my using my Newton
daily. If I can't get my contacts in my Newton, it's a deal breaker.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
The other side of this coin is my calendar. I use Now Up to Date 4.5.3
for my calendar. Does anyone know of a way to get this data into my
Newton? The Now folks don't have an iCal Sync, like the Address Book
Sync, so I'm at a wall. Again, this is a deal breaker for me.
I've read on this list of people deleting and reinstalling packages.
How the heck do you do that? As mentioned up top, I can't figure out
how to get a listing of what's installed so that I can delete.
Finally, I purchased My Newton on eBay from Knowledge Navigator. He's
been very helpful and prompt in getting me on my way to joining the
Newton community. His prices are great and the entire process has been
very good. I recommend him to anyone.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide, particularly with my
NewtSync/Address Book problem and a solution for Now Up to Date
calendar syncing.
