NewtBasic? NS Basic? NS Basic isn't too different from Atari Basic. Both are
line numbered forms of Basic.

Sounds like you have experience in the Atari 8-bits. :)
 
To answer your question from earlier, the current fan scene have started using lantronix serial to ethernet adaptors toget the Atari 8-bits on the internet. There are Atari BBS's now over telnet (can list if interested) and individual Atari's visit them, as well as anything else that wants to telnet there. But the original Atari's and emulated ones get the nice ATASCII graphics. ;)
 
So being able to access Jabber over that and do AIM oy Yahoo on the Atari 800 would be funly absurd. :)
