I have one of these units =96 it's running NOS 2.0. I've partially =20
dismantled it once. The backlight is not part of the standard (Apple) =20=
hardware as far as I can tell. There's also a Digital Ocean internal =20
radio interface (presumably compatible with their wireless Newtons et =20=
al), and some other circuitry, from what I remember.
I have gotten mine to run off a 6 v power supply, however it seems to =20=
have developed a case of the jaggies, which I so far haven't been =20
able to cure, and my modem-to-modem connections with NCU haven't been =20=
reliable enough for back-up.
