This may be perilously close to a " me too " kind of post, but Laurent
is absolutely correct. I lost a MessagePad 2100 to a non Apple adapter
that I purchased at a Radio Shack. I plugged it in, and within a few
minutes smoke started to pour out of the unit. Very distressing.
Happily, my memory card was undamaged.
