My MP 2000 have the same problem with batteries. They get empty very =
fast.
The beam is not in automatic and the backlight is always off. I have =
eight
reachargable sony batteries with 850mA and they get drained in just one =
day.
If I change them for 1800mA or 2300mA, the problem will be solved?

Also, if you have=20

   Options

installed--that turns on the backlight automatically when the Newt is
started at certain times of the day--make sure the backlight is not set =
to
turn on when the Newton starts itself at 3am to do its housecleaning.
(Expect a new thread to start anytime about the Newt waking up at =
3am...)

Poutine, anyone?
