Opinion different than James'

I own a Siemens SX66 (same as te audiovox model - they are all called "Blue
Angel" devices made by HTC - just rebranded).

I love the all in one factor. I am used to the screen, love the bluetooth,
love the WiFi, Love the quadband GSM/GPRS (now if EDGE and UMTS were
available I would sell a kidney for one :p)

The device does have a nav pad like palms and other PPC, and it has
programmable buttons, so you don't need to slide out the keyboard.

Yes the thumbpad is tiny, most of my input is done via character recognizer,
but when writing longish emails, the thumbpad is better than writing :)

I think it would be interesting to have einstein on such a device. The
Newton3 looks very bad (albeit its just a mockup and not an actual device),
but I would not spend $$$ on it.
