Greetings, and welcome to the wonderful Newton world - where data
transfers are among the weakest points in the system. There's a lot
of information on the web (like the wiki linked to below, for
example), but here's a summary:

NewtSync just had its Tasks and Dates synch support upgraded. I have
used the Tasks synch a few times now, but have not had luck with the
Dates support. I only tried once, and it's fickle as ever, so I'll
keep trying and see if it works. It worked fine on Panther, for me.

I've never bothered with NewTen or any other OS X based system,
because they are a pain and never work. I can't figure it out, and
never have tried to because I have always stuck with the tool that
you need for the following:

You need to install the Newton Connection Utilities in Classic. Yes,
it's Classic. Suck it up. It's still the easiest way to do it, and
will remain so for quite some time. Once you have it in, then you can
synch Dates and Tasks with Claris (yes, that old thing, freely
available on UNNA), open the file in Palm Desktop, and there you have
it. It only goes easily from Newton to desktop, though.

Works documents go really easily to Word readable .rtf files. Though
other files read .rtf, only Word seems to keep the embedded image
files in your Works document.

I have never had success with QuickFigure spreadsheets. Maybe others
can help out there - you most likely require a version of Excel that
reads the right macros, and newer versions no longer do that.

I can't help you here. Sorry!

Again, NCU is fickle but does the job most of the time without
disconnecting weirdly. A linear flash RAM card is good, and ATA works
well, from what I've heard.

For help on installing on NCU, consult the wiki or search the
archives of the mailing list so that you find out about the odd
intricacies and extensions that need to be included...

hope that helps.
