I can also send text documents to my newton using Newtsync and
Textsync after jumping through a few hoops. There is a limit on the
size of the notes i can send. 800 characters seems to go easy. I did
manage to get 950 characters to transfer, but looked like I got
lucky. Textsync also seems to hate some characters. I had two almost
identical text files. One had quotation marks in it. The quotation
marks made the transfer hang.

Textsync works at transferring notes to the newton, you just have to
keep the files small (less than about 200 words) and watch the
symbols you put in the document.
