[NTLK] using Serial-over-Bluetooth. Is it possible?

I kind of assumed that I could tell both the BT stack on the Newton
and on my Mac to provide a serial port and then connect the two and
have programs that only talk through a serial port communicate with
each other. E.g, have Escale use the BT serial port on the Mac (which
seems to be possible) and have Dock on the Newton also talk to the new
serial port provided thru a Bluetooth connection.

But while on the Mac I can configure this virtual serial port to be a
"raw" tunnel, the Newton BT setup seems to only allow it to use as a
"Modem", meaning that when i tell the Dock to use this port, the Dock
brings up a connection slip for dialing with a modem.

Has someone succeeded in using the Dock using a serial tunnel via BT
yet somehow?
