I got hooked on the newton while I was in college (1999-2000 time
frame). My messagepad 130 served as an incredibly versatile note
taking device (printed with an old Laserwriter II I had scrounged at
home) that I could use in situations where my PowerBook wasn't a
viable option (was using a pb 1400 at the time). For my speech
classes, it was a godsend. Lately, it serves duty as a grocery and to
do list tool that I use primarily on weekends. When I attend
meetings, where I can't take my PowerBook (using a 15" g4 nowadays),
I still use the newton. Best $100 I've ever spent.
