It scratches pretty quickly if a grain of dirt or sand gets in the tip
of your stylus. If you really can't live with screen protectors (and
NuShields are pretty good, taking only a minimal amount of screen
clarity away), you'll soon develop the "Newton nervous tick", which
identifies Newtoneers all over the Known Universe: Take out stylus, lick
tip of stylus, write some, lick tip of stylus.
