I think if I did any hack it would be to put a Newton 2x00 in a E-mate case. :)

To me that would be awesome.

And to me, if someone could increase the internal memory on a Newton 2x00 higher than 4 mb, and made a quick way to get information ON a Newton, then we'd be cooking in grease. :)

Hi Jon,

Here is a link to Stephanie Mak's site where she has documented the hack.

http://www.felesmagus.com/newton/ematefast.html
OR
http://tinyurl.com/qomjs

There she is using a Tall Canister Crystal.
One should try to find the Shorter Crystal which will save room on space.
I installed mine and did not experience the damage she did but the
trace is fragile and did come up a little on my installation.

It's a MOD that I'll try again after I've more time on my hands since
I've already sourced the parts for myself but I'd suggest anyone
contemplating this take their eMate apart and look at it carefully to
plan the procedure and placement carefully ahead of time.

While you are there doing this MOD you can do the hinges and other
MODs that are documented by Stephanie...

FInding one is not impossible - it's the price you pay to the
particular piper who installs this or has it...

If you like we can discuss this if you need additional help...

HTH
