That seems INSANE to me. I have never heard of a router with a fixed
WEP key before, and I doubt it's true. What kind of router/wireless
base is it exactly?

It should work, but I can't be sure...

Also, FYI be careful buying gold cards as I think there are several
iterations of "gold", what you want is the old Lucent Gold card, not
the newer "orinoco" or "Agere" or something else that is based on a
different chip set. You might want to research this a bit, or just
fid the old style card if you can.
