Well as for printing. There are software packages that will allow a
newton to print to the installed printer driver on your Desktop/Laptop.
 Softprintpack is great on the windows side (I use it quite often). And
if I remember right there is something similar on the Mac side. With
Softprintpack I dock my Newt to the desktop hit print on the Newton and
the network printer starts printing the page. It is not as fast as if
you printed something directly from the desktop but it still does a nice
job. And this gets around the problem of having a Newton compatible
printer on hand to make hard copies and better than a Fax solution I
believe.
