Actually it doesn't matter wich address i prompt:
http://192.168.17x.xx/~myname/newton fails
http://computername.local/~myname/newton fails
http://127.0.0.1/~myname/newton fails
The browsers connect to my mac, then i get the message: "connecting
to website", "connection to host" and then the connection stops...
Newtscape ist hanging with "connect to port 80"
Firewall is off
BTW: if i close the firewall, eudora and simple mail refuse to
connect, but no problem with browsers..
Weird...
