Hi Matthias:
If you're adventurous enough, you can risk it—that is buying one in the US
and hacking it so that you can use it in Europe. There are at least two
working iPhones in Manila, one of which is owned by my former boss. As far
as I know—just had a drink with a co-worker at the old office—my former
boss's iPhone is functioning with a Philippine telco on a GSM network. The
other iPhone meanwhile is owned by one of the members of the Philippine
Macintosh Users Group (www.philmug.ph). Nevertheless, I can't afford it
enough to be interested in it. :)
