I don't know. I get frustrated by them. If I zone out or think about
some image or line, suddenly, the "reading" didn't stop, and so I'm
behind and going back is a PITA. Reminds me of Sven Birkerts's essay
about books on tape and how listening to them is not "reading" because
you can't control the speed or voice or intonation of the language,
like you can with a book.
