[NTLK] soup error

My notes soup is whacked with error:

    -10606
    Description: Object not found
    Category: Card Store Errors

SoupKitchen and SBM Utilities can't even open the soup, much less edit or fix.

Might it help to rebuild the indices via SMB Utilities?

Is that a data-risking procedure? Can't back up nor copy/move soup:
same error code (often followed by others I haven't recorded).
