The sound in/out plugs are surface-mounted. Worse, the ones most
difficult to reach seem to be the worst broken. I've already tried
repairing the sound-out, but succeeded in ruining the sound-in. :-)
And I'm not incompetent with a soldering iron. The keyboard plug on my
Treo is also surface mounted, with about 20 pins less than a mm apart.
I succeeded in soldering that back to the main board after it sheered
off. :-) Right now, I'm using an iMic, but have been re-considering
looking at my now spare sound/power board. :-)
