Please note that Nisus Writer 3x does not support these macros. I
sent an email to the developers last year about updating it, but I
think perhaps it is time to follow up. My writing of late hasn't been
particularly footnote-heavy, so I've just been searching for <fn>
manually once the document is on my machine.

That said, I can highly recommend Nisus Express.
