Sorry I can't read the German, but based on your english synopsis, I
must say that although adding decorations might be "pretty" it in NO
WAY makes things easier or more accessible. Good user interface
design can and should include decorations and beauty, but that's not
what it's about. It's about usability, which Apple has been well
aware of for more then twenty five years.

I think to some extent that Apple has been walking a tight rope
between shifting platforms (PPC, Intel, OS9 OSX) and that only NOW
are they in a position to really move forward with major UI changes
to the Mac OS. I say this, because only in Leopard are we now seeing
the jettisoning of the older OS9 artifacts, and the support for Cocoa
only. Hopefully this will allow Apple and other to innovate in the
user inteface space, as lord knows this is needed, overdue and
clearly doable.

I also need to comment that another poster stated (Jon?) that Linux
looks like windows and increasing like Mac. That's kind of funny to
me, as windows was nothing but a copy of mac to begin with.
