[NTLK] emate suggestions

i've decided to take one of my emates - the one with the gimpy hinge
and dead battery - and do some modifications on it. in case you're
wondering, i will keep my other, more "mint" emate in its original
condition. the one i'm hacking is the one i bought a while back for
parts. depending on my luck/skill, i may need to get another one for
parts...

my main goal is to build a new, sleeker case for it, more closely
resembling one of the modern "netbooks" that are all the rage these
days. there's so much space inside the case, and weight that can be
trimmed. with a little reshaping, i think it will be much more
comfortable for me to write on, even keeping the original - and still
one of my favorite - keyboard.

while i have it apart, i intend to replace the battery with a rebuilt
rechargeable pack, fix the hinge and potentially patch/replace the
ribbon cable. i'd also like to get the memory upgrade for it, as well
as a white backlight.

are there any other suggestions or recommendations from the emate
hackers on the list? hardware i need to put in while i'm digging
around in the little guy's guts?
