From the sound of the discussion I assume your cleaning the memory card contacts? What about the contacts in the camera, can they be reached for cleaning? (or would you have to disassemble it?) I thought the QT 200 used standard smart media cards, maybe an ebayer would have one still? I had an old fujifilm that looked a lot like the 200 and it took smartmedia cards. My fuji stopped taking pictures too but I think my memory card died because I tried opening it, which was easy, and cleaning the contacts but it didn't help, I also tried an external format which didn't help. Have you tried formating the memory card in a pc? Every digital camera I've had times were it couldn't read/format the memory card and I've had to use a computer to format the cards maybe that'll save your memory card?
I always wanted a qt 100 or 150 myself. I just like the strange form factor of those two.

Use strong vodka. Seriously -- any kind of alcohol should work as a
cleaner, if in fact that's going to solve the problem. You do want
something of high proof, over 100 ideally. Vodka is good because
there is little in it besides water and alcohol, as opposed, to, say,
whiskey. Good luck!

But I have a Macintosh IIx and the complete package (box, manual, cables, everything) of the QT200, so why not give the old Mac a try? Well, because there was no way to transfer any data between my PC and the Mac. (The floppy drive is dead.)

"Now I can FINALLY start using the QuickTake," I thought, but, unfortunately, I couldn't. Why? Because the (quite roomy) 2M memory card is unreadable. The QT says "card error" or "card not initialized" even though it worked fine 1.5 years ago. I can't even format the card - the format option doesn't do ANYTHING. (The QT knows the card is in there - if I remove it it says "no card".)

But apparently it is very difficult to find isopropyl alcohol in Slovenia as no store had it. So I am asking you all, is there any other cure for the memory card? QuickTake-compatible memory cards are very rare and pricey (even more than Newton-compatible PCMCIA cards) and I don't want to spend money on another one, especially as the whole package cost $100.
