I sometimes laugh when I see what complicated procedures you 2.x users need to take just to do something that could easily be done on 1.x with the NCK. But then again, we 1.x users can't use 90% of hardware & software.

Sent from my PC because there's no program to do it on 1.x.

So after many hours of pain and annoyance from my girlfriend (with good
reason), I've finally found my perfect solution for getting notes off
the newton in a format that preserves the original note. Fastmail was
not... fast enough for me, as the messages I sent via the newton were
not delivered until many hours later (upwards of 16). I needed a
solution that would allow near-instantaneous, if not instantaneous
transfer of notes to one of my local machines. So I set up postfix to
run on my linux server, and I use that as my smtp server. All I do is
send an email from my newton with my email address set up as my local
user on the linux server, and the destination email as the same, and it
works without a hitch. I hope this helps someone out who is still trying
to find a way to get those damned notes off of their newton easily...

Jeremy
