Sometimes it doesn't take much force to warp the case to make a difference.
When I use the Palmtree leather glove case, the tightness of the fit makes it so
that when I put my wireless card in the top slot, it won't recognise the card.
Take the Newton out of the case and the problem goes away.

Yes I think that is possible. Other screws may also contributed to possibly
warping the case.
