Interesting clarification Phil.  Thanks.  And I'm afraid I agree with
"Millionaire Hoy":  why did Apple bother?   Even if they do something
fantastic with a later version of the thing (i.e., fix certain problems in
the process of turning it into something more like a Newton), and even if I
end up buying one, I'll be my own Aunt Zelda if I admit to owning something
called an "iPad".  Meanwhile, that name has been ridiculed virally so badly
for so long even the Jobs Reality Distortion Field couldn't have been immune
to it.  

So I just don't understand paying good money for the name.  unless Steve's
trying to prove that he can even reclaim *that* name and make it magical.
