I read the other day in PC Magazine online that Facebook has redone its content to use HTML5 and not Flash...so users with iPhones and particularly iPads could better access it.

Let's stop and think about this for a minute....

The second-largest social networking site (behind Twitter) has *overhauled its site and content* to essentially cater to one device...a device that was announced just three months ago and has only been available for just about one month now.

Wow...and projects like the two above have been in development for years...but since their parent companies apparently don't believe that they match up well enough to the iPad...they're dead in the water.

While it's way too soon to tell exactly what kind of impact the iPad will have long-term (and will it be sustained?)...it would be kind of difficult to argue that at least to this point it hasn't had some serious influence.

Thanks,
