If you don't need a shoulder strap (and a simple handle will do for you), you may want to have a look at this plain external HD case from CaseLogic:

My 2100 fits in there nicely, together with all cards (ethernet, modem/fax, wireless, flash cards, blanks), spare stylus, extra battery tray, dongle, charger w/ adapter, StowAway foldable keyboard and Doug's connecting cable. 

I've found it to be sturdy and light enough to carry in my handbag (well, granted, there are people who would define my handbag a shopping bag).
