I got my 130 set to 1993 so I don't have to worry about it in 11 years (and yes I was implying apple still won't have a full newt replacement in 11 years). Luckily I dont/didnt have a bunch of time/date sensitive data like some of the long time users.

Try setting a date in the year 1999. Does it keep it?

It appears all models of Newtons may suffer from a Y2010 ROM bug. My v2.0 120's and my 130 started showing symptoms right after the New Year of 2009. They went into a continuous reboot. My solution:

First, make sure your Newton has the most current ROM patch installed. You can find them on UNNA.org in the Apple Software directory.

Next, be prepared to live with your Newton set to a weekday-compatible year. My 120 and 130 are set to 1999. Since patching, I am unable to set the date/time to any date in 2010, but af least it doesn't crash now.

Our 2100's and eMates have a good chance to see another patch. If the "programmers that be" can locate and/or fix the problem. However, our older Newts may have to wait much longer for a fix.

I'm hoping that once a solution is found, it can be fixed in all of our Newtons. Long shot, though it may be.
