Lol as I said it was awhile ago when I looked into ppc iphone stuff (during the 2.x sdk days), doesn't surprise me they finally stripped out the hidden ppc support.

Yes, but only with the 2.x SDK. Later ones don't have any PPC support at all (the simulator and libraries.)

And it's a lot of hassle to work with it.

For iOS 4.x you have to have a minimum of 10.6, and really iOS 4.x is where you want to be concentrating your effort.
